ATMs

Avoid ATMs not associated with a bank (especially Euronet and Cash Zone, which are known to charge high fees). Look for an ATM associated with a bank such as BNP Paribas, Credit Agricole, LCL, Sociéte Generale, Banque Populaire, or Caisse d'Epargne.

There is a BNP Paribas ATM in the Nice airport, but if you can't find it, there is an ATM from Banque Populaire (Ave Maréchal Foch) and Caisse d'Epargne (Avenue General deGaulle) in the town. They are up a couple of levels from our street. Put in walking directions and climb the steps! There are also many banks/ATMs in Nice.

Important Note: If asked whether you want to do an ATM or credit card transaction in dollars or in euros, ALWAYS do it in euros.

Pharmacies

If you need a pharmacy, there are a few in the town. Look for the Green cross. Use your walking directions for:

- Pharmacie de la Paix (6 Place de la Paix - near a great boulangerie, Boulangerie de la Paix)

- Pharmacie de l'Octroi (6 Ave du Maréchal Foch - near the ATM and the larger Casino shop)

- Pharmacie Tahiti (4 Ave Maréchal Joffre)

The pharmacists are like doctors. You tell them your symptoms and they advise you want to get.

Also, French pharmacies are known for carrying wonderful skin care products. My favorite is the Nuxe Huile Prodigeuse (a hair, body, and face oil).
